An Update from Owners Jenn and Matt Mason
Ciao from Sicily!
It's time for our update about our search for new owners! We are busily heading into to the 4th quarter with Gillian running the ship. We have a few new employees in training preparing for what we hope will be a very successful holiday season. Please read to the end to see how YOU can help!
There are rumors-about-town that we are closing, but that is not our plan. We are still looking for the perfect adoptive parent(s) to take curds&co forward into the future. It would be a waste to close a business like this that has become a staple to the town we loved and lived in for 15 years, don't you think?
Why are we selling?
Two reasons.
1. We are now Italian residents living in Sicily and fully engrossed in renovating a abandoned palazzo on the slopes of Etna. We hope you'll check out our journey on Youtube here @OurPlaceinSicily We especially recommend this episode with two visits from our curds&co customers!
2. curds&co deserves an owner who can be more present day-to-day in the growth and future of the business. We have a few big ideas that will take the store into the next phase of awesomeness but the ideas need boots on the ground (or at least in the country!)
We also wanted to let you all know that we are in the process of selling curdbox.com our award-winning cheese + experience subscription box. Just this year we have received recognition from Food & Wine, Serious Eats, CNET, and USA Today 10BEST Reader's Choice! And of course, we have plotted out the steps for the next phase of growth here, too. This business is possible to run from anywhere in the country.
We believe that the best future owner might just be one of our regular customers. No experience is necessary—but passion for great food and innovation is a must!
We are willing to sell both businesses separately or jointly.
How You Can Help
First, keep shopping and telling others about us. Think of us for all of your holiday, gift-giving, and entertaining needs. Go visit Gillian and welcome our new staff! Treat yourself to cheese—you deserve it. We depend on you to help make our employees happy by keeping them busy behind the case!
Second, help us spread the word to your network. Brookline (and the surrounding area!) is an amazing and vibrant town filled with brilliant humans with all the connections we need to keep curds&co (and curdbox.com) moving on into the future. We believe that the best future owner might just be one of our regular customers. No experience is necessary—but passion for great food and innovation is a must!
We are willing to sell both businesses separately or jointly.
If you are this person or know someone who may be interested, please contact Bil Zarch (bil@baystatebusinessbrokers.com or (617)694-1139) our wonderful business broker who is also a regular customer of curds&co and understands its place in our community.

Jenn and Matt
